Heroes

There are heroes we never know
That walk the Roads of Life ahead of us
Clearing the path as we grow.

There are heroes we never see
That walk behind us
Helping us to our feet when we fall.

Through failure and success,
Love and loss,
These heroes guide us with veiled hands.

There are heroes we never realize
Until they are gone.
Until we see ourselves
In the eyes of our own children.
