The Road Goes Ever On and On

The path stretches onward towards the setting sun.
I am braving the things beyond.
Where the path may take me nobody knows.
I don't know how long I've been going on this path alone,
But now time has ceased to slow.
The things beyond seem so elusive,
And where they may arrive to, nobody knows.
I am determined, however, and nothing can break my resolve.
I've navigated winding paths, the straight ones of old.
Everything I may not know,
But the path swerves on and on,
Where the path may lead me, nobody knows.
The wise and the noble have tread this path, I know.
Also, those who weren't so bright in the end,
And though I am braving the things beyond,
Fright tries to make its way to my core.
But I am brave: I go onward towards the setting sun.
Where the path may lead me, nobody knows.

Headstone Legacy

Still among the world of the living
Lies in solitude
The words of the wise:
Solemn voices tinged with passion,
Dire hopes of new perspective.
Every deed in freeze-frame; Her epic is known by name.
Curious fingers slide across
Motionless stone,
A coarse inscription
Upon the face of time;
A legend of a past age.
