Eric, Chris and I go out to our local Hooters in Mandarin pretty often; it's one of our favorite haunts. We're long-time fans of Hooters. (Get your mind out of the gutter; I meant the restaurants!) We always bring Eric's T-shirt and my boxer shorts. Ummmm.... I guess that needs a little explanation. Hooters sells a bunch of gifts and souvenirs. It's pricey, but some of it's pretty cool. (I even had a Hooters tag on the front of my truck, until I sold it. The truck - not the tag.) Well, if you're nice to the girls, they'll sign your stuff for you. (Maybe not if you're wearing it.) So we go prepared. Along with the aforementioned garments, Eric even brings a selection of colored Sharpies.
The girls all make you feel like you're one of the family. Of course it's part of their training, but they're very good at it and it doesn't seem forced at all. And don't kid yourself; those girls work hard! When the joint's busy, they run their tails off. (Not literally - relax.) They even bus their own tables. But they still find time to make you feel a little special. That's quite a feat.
Lately I've discovered that nobody objects if you bring along a digital camera and snap a few pictures. Some of the girls even seem to enjoy it. Never one to pass up a golden opportunity, I've been taking snapshots and posting them here on Ropes' Corner. I'll be adding to the collection in the future, so you might want to check this page now and then. But there are no sexy pictures of bikini-clad ladies here; just some casual shots of the hard-working staff in action. One time I spotted Rachel dashing by and called out her name. When she saw me pointing the camera at her, she paused and posed prettily, then immediately shifted back into high gear. I hope you enjoy the pix, and if you get a chance and you're in the area, stop by and check it out. It's worth the trip.
